The official opening of ITU Telecom World 2014 before assembled event participants and special guests, including Heads of State and Ministers, Heads of UN Agencies, regulators, C-level industry representatives, Forum speakers and accredited media.
A welcome reception held for some 1 000 high-level participants immediately before the important official Opening Ceremony.
ITU World Club Dinner
The formal ITU World Club Dinner kicked off the programme for with an exclusive social event for Leaders.
The influential Leaders Lunch on the first day of the event was an opportunity for Leader Pass holders to connect with fellow delegates and high-level industry representatives in an engaging social environment.
Dinners on Monday 8 December and on Tuesday 9 December enabled a select group of high-level guests to enjoy an exclusive gala evening of dining, entertainment and networking.
Seated lunches hosted by event sponsors for their invited guests, providing an opportunity to connect with industry and government representatives at the highest level, fellow delegates and international companies in a relaxed social environment.
Dedicated networking spaces throughout the event enabled participants to connect with each other, from planned bilateral meetings to informal discussions over coffee.
The central hub at the heart of the showfloor, the OpenSpace was accessible to all. Event participants gathered here to relax, take part in demos, make use of the internet corner, meet informally or continue the conversation over refreshments in the lounge area.
An exclusive lounge area hosting some 350 leaders (and their guests) on the showfloor, including meeting rooms, relaxation spaces, refreshment bar and business facilities.
The showfloor home of the winners of the ITU Telecom Young Innovators Competition, showcasing ICT-based solutions to real-life global developmental challenges. The InnovationSpace also hosted The Lab, an exhibition of innovative, creative applications and prototypes serving a clear social purposes.
The event home for local, regional and international press and media, including a press conference room, TV studio, interview room and lounge for downtime connecting and socializing.
Enclosed equipped meeting rooms and hospitality suites were available to rent for private business negotiations and/or hosting targeted social events.
