Ningfeng Chen


From September 1990 to September 2001, Ms. Chen worked as an engineer at Fuzhou Office of Earthquake Resistance and Fuzhou Urban and Rural Construction Committee. Between September 2001 and September 2003, Ms. Chen served as the chief engineer at Fuzhou Anxinda Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd. She was a North American market research consultant at Shanghai Naide Enterprise Management Consulting between September 2005 and February 2011. Ms. Chen graduated from Anhui Institute of Architecture & Industry with a bachelor degree in industrial and civil construction in July 1990. In June 2003, Ms. Chen graduated from the University of International Business and Economics with a master’s degree in management. Ms. Chen also received a certificate of completion in financial analysis and investment management from the University of Toronto in May 2005. Ms. Chen is a founding partner of Yintech, leader in precious metal stock trading in Shanghai and Nasdaq. Ms. Chen’s partners are also the founders of the leader in block trading in China. Added to this Ms. Chen has many successful real estate investments in China and operates a financial services and Fintech hub and lab in the US. In 2017, Sherry became a founding General Partner and Limited Partner in the globally focused VC (Venture Capital) fund established by REDDS Venture Investment Partners.

Jaewon Peter Chun



Peter is the CEO XnTree, a tech accelerator and investment company based in London, with operations across Asia. XnTree supports fintech and smart city tech companies in entering new markets globally through its GoWest and GoEast programmes. XnTree also helps cities to design smart city with innovation in Europe and Asia. Prior to joining XnTree, Peter was an advisor to the Seoul Metropolitan government and served as Executive Director of the Korea-Israel Chamber of Commerce. He was an analyst at Investment banking at Morgan Stanley in New York. He is an alumni of The Wharton School, University of Pennylvania.

Beate Degen

Beate Degen has more than 20 years of expertise in oil & gas, life sciences, agriculture and education. She has a backgroundin operations research, econometrics and mathematics. Currently, she is a partner at EY and serving large clients across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Previously, Beate has been working for Bayer AG, a multinational Life Science company, focusing on developing new strategies, driving innovation and developing new businesses. She is publishing on quantitative analytics and was also teaching leadership at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles. Beate is passionate about developing innovative solutions andcombining disciplines to solve key problems of today’s and tomorrow’s world. She has a long-term affiliation with ITU as being a member of ITU’s Independent Management Advisory Committee, where she’s currently serving as Chair. She’sas well advisory board member of the “m-Powering-Development Initiative”.

Omobola Johnson

Omobola Johnson is a Partner of TLcom Capital in Lagos, Nigeria, a venture capital firm focused on investments in technology enabled companies in Sub-Saharan Africa. Before joining TLcom, Omobola was Minister of Communication Technology, Nigeria from 2011 to 2015, focusing on the launch and execution of the National Broadband Plan, and the support of the Nigerian technology industry, including the pioneering involvement of the government in a local VC fund and a network of start-up incubators. Before serving inthe Nigerian government, she was in Accenture for over twenty five years including five years as Country Managing Director, workingwith companies in a variety of industries, transforming them into more competitive and dynamic organizations. Omobola serves on the Board of a number of not-for-profit and for-profit organisations, including Women in Management and Business (WIMBIZ) whereshe was the founding Chairperson. Omobola has a Bachelor's in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester; a Master's in Digital Electronics from King's College, London and a Doctorate in Business Administration from the School of Management of Cranfield University.

A dedicated professional with over eighteen years of experience in both domestic and cross-border M&A with profound knowledge in Financial Institutions Group (FIG) sectors, he has previously worked in venture capital and private equity providing strategic guidance and supporting funding rounds of $10m and above.

Yasmin Mahmood

Yasmin Mahmood is the Chief Executive of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), a government organisation responsible to drive the Malaysian digital economy agenda, create talent of the future and encourage digital adoption amongst the citizens and businesses. She began her career in IT three decades ago as an analyst programmer before working her way up to Chief Executive and other senior positions with global brands such as Dell, HP, and Microsoft in Malaysia. The older generation of Malaysians will remember her for the “Malaysianising Microsoft” vision, which aligned the strengths of what was then the world’s most powerful software company with Malaysia’s national and development agenda. Yasmin is a visionary leader and a distinguished speaker, having graced global speaking platforms at Forbes and the World Economic Forum.

Nathan Millard

After an early career spanning half a dozen industries in four countries, Nathan founded G3 Partners (Singapore, Korea) in January 2015 with a goal of helping entrepreneurs in Asia expand into new markets. G3 provides practical support for startups through website design, social media strategy and management, marketing communications, public relations and investment support. Nathan serves as a mentor at the Google Campus in Seoul, and studies Politics and History at the University of London.

Enda Nasution

1000 Startup Digital Indonesia

An authoritative source on Indonesian digital & social media scenes, quoted on national and international media, speaking in various conferences and workshop on topics ranging from freedom of expression on the net, new media, social media use for organizations as well as digital technology for education, marketing, business etc. Founded social media startups Sebangsa (2012), developing strategy, business,  products & user growth among other things. Currently a partner in a new digital communications company and act as Executive Director for 1000 Startup Digital Movement, a government supported program in 10 cities in Indonesia. He tweets daily from @enda to his 226k followers about digital tech, startups and obscure pop culture references.

Reg Orton

2016 Global SME Award winner


Reg is the co-founder and CTO of Kenyan based technology firm BRCK, the first company to pursue ground up design and engineering of consumer electronics in East Africa.  His role at BRCK is to ensure that the company is delivering the most technologically awesome, reliable and appropriate solution for the market. Reg designed the BRCK v1 from scratch, and has been instrumental in building the product into what it is today. He holds an Engineering degree from the University of Auckland in New Zealand, and has worked on 4 continents across the globe, leading engineering teams doing world changing design and developing bleeding edge solutions, mostly in the medical markets.

Bettina Quimson

Bettina spent more than 15 years as a consultant and analyst in Silicon Valley, before moving to the Philippines to start her own IT outsourcing company. She has served on numerous boards and associations, including as Vice-President of the Philippine Software Industry Association and chair of the National ICT Advisory Council. She is currently involved with several startups, consults for the Philippine Government on ICT strategy, and serves on the board of the EU – Philippines Business Network.

Richard Wnuk

Richard has more than 30 years’ experience building successful companies in the media and entertainment industries. He has held executive positions at Time Warner, Atari and Red Storm Entertainment, overseeing franchises including Tetris, Pacman, Pit Fighter, Rainbow 6 and Rogue Spear. He previously served as COO of Konami, US with responsibility for US$150m in annual revenue, across labels including Metal Gear Solid, Pokemon and Dance Dance Revolution. He is currently sits on the boards of several tech companies in US, Canada and Israel, and is an advisor to US, California based VC firm Blue Heron Ventures. Since 2015 he has been awarded a Fullbright Specialist grant to support academic programmes in Estonia and Malaysia.

Toufi Saliba

Toufi built & sold IP that ended up at Google, OpenText, HP and latest an AI startup that became an Intel company. Toufi co-authored fully decentralized ledgerless blockchain protocol that uses an innovative cryptographic method combined with distributed computing to attain scalability while reducing cost. Toda recently formed a joint venture with Algorand authored by ACM Turing Award Winner Silvio Micali the number one global award in computer science. Toufi leads ACM global initiative He is also a board member & advisor to several tech ventures and F500 companies.

Tilman Suss

Tilman is the Managing Director of BerlinerStrategen, a Berlin-based management and strategy consultancy for technology and impact driven SMEs, corporates, and public-sector institutions. He is also co-founder of a data analytics and cyber security software consultancy and an angel investor through his role as Managing Director of Sofora Ventures and BerlinerStrategen Ventures. Since 2015, Tilman has lectured on business communications at the Berlin School of Economics and Law, and is now the Director of the Institute for Data Science at the Exponential University.

Antonio Garcia Zaballos

Antonio García Zaballos is Lead Specialist on telecommunications in Institutions for Development and he is also the leader of the broadband initiative. He has an extensive experience in the telecom sector where has been working in different positions of responsibility. At Deloitte Spain led the practice of regulation and strategy for Latin America and the Caribbean, and previously he was the Chief Economist of the Cabinet for Economic Studies of Regulation in Telefónica of Spain, before joining Telefonica, Antonio was Deputy Director of Economic Analysis and Markets at the Spanish Telecom Regulator (CMT). During his career, Antonio was providing advisory services to Regulators, Telecom Operators and Governments in countries such as Saudi Arabia, China, Ecuador, Argentina, Dominican Rep., Paraguay, Polonia, Czech Rep. among others. He holds a PhD in Economics from the UniversityCarlos III of Madrid and is an associated professor of applied finance to Telecommunications at the Instituto de Empresa Business School. He is author of several publications on economic and regulatory aspects for the sector of telecommunications.

Li Zhou

Sustainable Development Officer


Li is a Sustainable Development Officer with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, East and North-East Asia Office, covering technology and innovation policy. He was formerly a Sustainable Development Officer with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and a Programme Officer with the United Nations Development Programme, Asia-Pacific Regional Centre. He has formerly worked at start-ups Bluelabs and Purpose (in US), and holds a BA from UNSW and a MPA from Columbia University.
