Nigeria Pavilion

The Ministry of Communications was created to foster a knowledge-based economy and information society in Nigeria. Its mission is to facilitate universal, ubiquitous and cost effective access to communications infrastructure throughout the country and to promote the utilization of ICTs in all spheres of life to optimize the communications infrastructure, amongst others. The Ministry is currently rolling out the Nigeria National Broadband plan with the objective of promoting pervasive broadband deployment, and increasing broadband usage and availability with the aim of maximizing the socio-economic benefits and investment opportunities. The Nigerian Communications Commission is the independent national regulatory authority for the telecommunications industry in Nigeria. The Commission is responsible for creating an enabling environment for competition among operators in the industry as well as ensuring the provision of qualitative and efficient telecommunications services throughout the country, supporting a market-driven telecommunications industry and promoting universal access. NCC aims to achieve this through the consistent enforcement of clear and fair policies that protect stakeholders, ensure efficient resource management, share industry best practices, deliver affordable, quality telecommunications services and provide investment opportunities for both local and international investors.

The Nigeria Pavilion will feature innovative products from SMEs and leading industry players driving the growth of Nigeria's digital eco system. The Nigerian Communications Commission, which regulates the country's high-growth telecoms sector, will also be present to network and engage with participants to showcase developments and opportunities in the sector. The pavilion will also host top government officials from the Ministry of Communications to engage at a high-level on flagship national projects and initiatives to deepen connectivity for better socio-economic impact.
