National Pavilion Organizer
The Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan is an Azerbaijani governmental agency within the Cabinet of Ministers in charge of regulation of the communications sector and the development of high technologies in the country.
The duties of the Ministry include a wide range of responsibilities:
- Formulating and implementing unified state policy and conducting state regulation in the field of communication and high technologies;
- Ensuring efficient use of telecommunications;
- Taking necessary measures for the expansion of satellite infrastructure;
- Participating in the creation and expansion of transit information highways.
In addition, together with relevant government bodies, the Ministry develops and implements scientific-technical and innovation policies for high technologies as well as measures to strengthen the capacity of the high technologies sector; and encourages the development of competitive high technologies, knowledge-intensive, low-cost products and services, and innovative businesses. Moreover, the Ministry carries out work to develop the use of nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes.
